The Aqua-gel mat is a compartmentalized water reservoir. It has been specially developed for the transport of fresh cut flowers by plane. The aqua-gel mat can be placed at the bottom of a bucket after which a measured amount of water is added. The flowers are then placed with the stems on the Aqua-gel mat that has now absorbed all the water. During transport, the flowers can then extract moisture from the mat. The mat consists of a non-woven outer layer and super absorbent granules in the cells. An accurate dosage of the amount of granules in the cells ensures the desired water absorption and release properties.
